It All Starts Today
The story takes place in a sad mining town near Valencienne in the north of France. It is about how one man tries to bring life back to his once-thriving village and its people. Philippe Torreton, who won a César for Best Actor for his role as the title character in "Capitaine Conan," plays Daniel, the head teacher of a nursery school in a town where unemployment has made people feel bad about themselves. Daniel is determined to bring life to the town no matter what. When a parent who has come to pick up her kids passes out from drinking on the school grounds and social services doesn't help, Daniel decides to do something about it himself. Even though the people in the town are against him, in the long run, his efforts will not be in vain.
